About

Hi! I'm Nicole, a stay-at-home-mom to two sweet boys, Caleb and Luke, who are anxiously awaiting their 4th and 2nd birthdays. My sweet husband and I also have another boy expected to arrive in May 2014! We love all things boy in our house, but make sure I still get to be a lady amongst all these boys!

I have enjoyed a varied education and career - everything from teaching fifth grade in a public elementary school, to teaching high school German online, to doing administrative work for the Chemistry department at the University of Pittsburgh, to studying non-profit leadership while earning my Masters of Public Administration degree.  The common thread through it all?  Loving people, improving lives, and seeking things of beauty and excellence.

That's why I love Origami Owl - this company does all of those things.  The company began with the vision of a 14-year-old girl who wanted to buy a car for herself when she turned 16.  Her parents refused her request to just buy one for her with the prompt that she should, "start babysitting or start a business."  Well she took them at her word at started designing glass lockets and symbolic charms to fill them.  She saw a vision of women and teens creating their own beautiful jewelry that spoke about them and their goals.  Bella's parents supported her through craft fairs and mall kiosk Saturday sales and home parties.  It didn't take long for her product to attract attention.  Now Bella is 17, drives the white jeep she bought herself, and still leads design and vision at headquarters with her mom after attending public high school during the day.

The company's motto is to "Be a Force for Good."  I love that!  Isn't that what we all want to be?  Of course life demands us to do a lot of basic tasks just to survive like sleep, work and eat, but we all long for deeper meaning and making a difference.  Nearly all women in the world wear jewelry, and I love helping people wear jewelry that means something, reminds them of the faith, family, talents, goals, and dreams.  I also love how Origami Owl allows women to fulfill their need to create by designing for themselves.

Lastly, I get to do all of that in the nooks and crannies and nap-times of raising my sweet boys full-time. I have a chance to bring beauty, meaning and professionalism to the women I am blessed to meet, all while keeping my family at the forefront of my life. Origami Owl enriches my life and I am grateful to be part of such a wonderful company!
